Botox for Men: Why More Men in Plano Are Getting Treated

Let's talk about something that's been quietly happening in the aesthetics world for years now: men are getting Botox. A lot of them. And the numbers keep growing.
It's sometimes called "Brotox" (I know, I know — the name is a bit much), but the trend itself is very real. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Botox treatments for men have been steadily increasing year over year. And here in Plano and the DFW area, I've seen that firsthand at Aesthetic Touch by Raya.
So why are more men booking appointments? And what's different about treating male clients? Let's get into it.
Why Men Are Getting Botox
For a long time, Botox was seen as something only women did. That stigma is fading fast, and there are a few reasons why.
Looking Competitive at Work
This comes up a lot with my male clients. In competitive industries — sales, law, tech, finance — looking tired, stressed, or older than you are can be a disadvantage. A lot of men are getting Botox not because they're vain, but because they want to look as energetic and sharp as they feel.
One client told me, "I'm not trying to look 25 again. I just don't want to look angry in every Zoom meeting." That deep frown line between his brows was making him look permanently irritated — and a little Botox fixed that completely.
It's Quick and Nobody Has to Know
Men tend to prefer treatments that are fast, low-maintenance, and discreet. Botox checks all three boxes. You're in and out in 15 to 20 minutes, there's no downtime, and the results are subtle enough that nobody will know unless you tell them.
Most guys don't want a dramatic change. They want to look well-rested and less worn out. That's it. And Botox delivers exactly that.
The Stigma Is Gone
Honestly, men caring about their appearance isn't new. What's new is that nobody thinks it's weird anymore. Going to the gym, having a skincare routine, getting Botox — it's all just part of taking care of yourself.
I've treated guys in their late 20s who want to prevent wrinkles from forming, and men in their 50s and 60s who want to soften what's already there. There's no "typical" male Botox client — it's all over the map.
How Botox for Men Is Different
While the treatment itself is the same product, treating male clients does require a different approach. Here's what's different:
Men Have Stronger Facial Muscles
This is the biggest technical difference. Male facial muscles — especially in the forehead and around the brows — tend to be larger and stronger than women's. That means men typically need higher doses of Botox to achieve the same effect.
An experienced injector knows this and adjusts accordingly. Using the same dose you'd use on a female client often leads to results that wear off too quickly or don't fully smooth the wrinkles.
The Goal Is Different
Most women who get Botox want a smooth, lifted look. Most men want something different — they want to keep some texture and movement. A completely smooth, frozen forehead can look odd on a man. It looks unnatural.
At Aesthetic Touch by Raya, I take a more conservative approach with male clients. The goal is to soften, not erase. Keep some natural lines and movement so the face still looks masculine and expressive.
Brow Position Matters
Women's eyebrows are typically arched, and Botox can enhance that arch. Men's eyebrows sit lower and are more horizontal — and that's how they should stay. Injecting the forehead incorrectly on a male client can lift the brows into an unnatural arch that looks... off.
Proper technique means understanding these differences and injecting in a way that maintains the natural masculine brow position.
Most Common Botox Areas for Men
The top three areas men request at Aesthetic Touch by Raya:
1. Frown Lines (the "11" lines) Those vertical lines between the eyebrows are the number one complaint from male clients. They make you look angry, stressed, or unapproachable — even when you're perfectly fine. Botox softens these lines while keeping natural brow movement.
2. Forehead Lines Deep horizontal forehead lines are the second most popular treatment area. Again, the goal isn't to completely erase them — just soften them enough that they're not the first thing people notice.
3. Crow's Feet The lines around the eyes that deepen when you smile. A little Botox here goes a long way in making the overall face look more refreshed without changing your smile.
What Guys Usually Ask Me
Here are the questions I get most from male clients:
"Will anyone be able to tell?" Not if I do my job right. The whole point is for people to notice you look good — not that you got Botox. Most of my male clients hear things like "you look well-rested" or "did you go on vacation?" That's the goal.
"Will it hurt?" It's a quick pinch. Most guys are surprised by how little they feel. I've had clients say the anticipation was way worse than the actual treatment.
"Can I work out after?" Skip the gym for 24 hours after treatment. After that, you're good to go.
"How often do I need to come back?" Every 3 to 4 months for most men. Some can stretch it to 5 months with regular treatments.
"Is it weird that I'm a guy getting Botox?" Not even a little bit. You're taking care of yourself, and there's nothing weird about that.
The Bottom Line
Botox isn't a gender-specific treatment. It's for anyone who wants to look as good as they feel — and more men in Plano and the DFW area are realizing that every day.
If you've been thinking about it, there's no better time to try. At Aesthetic Touch by Raya, I create a comfortable, no-judgment space for clients of all genders. We'll talk about your goals, I'll give you my honest recommendation, and we'll take it from there.
