Top 10 Questions New Clients Ask at Aesthetic Touch by Raya

After welcoming hundreds of new clients to my Plano clinic, I've noticed something: almost everyone asks the same questions. And honestly? They're really good questions. They tell me that people are doing their research, thinking critically, and being thoughtful about their decisions.
I'm Raya, and I figured it was time to put all of these answers in one place. So whether you're considering your first visit or you're just curious about how this all works, here are the top 10 questions I hear — with my honest answers.
1. "Will it look natural?"
This is the number one question by a mile. And I completely understand why. Nobody wants to look overdone, frozen, or like they're wearing a mask. The fear of looking "plastic" keeps a lot of people from even exploring treatments.
My answer: with the right provider and the right approach, absolutely. Natural results are not just possible — they're the standard at my practice. My entire philosophy is built around subtlety. I want people to think you look great, not that you've had work done.
The key is starting conservatively, respecting your unique facial anatomy, and not chasing trends. When I do my job well, the result is invisible. You just look refreshed.
2. "How much does it cost?"
The second most common question, and a completely fair one. Nobody wants to walk into a financial surprise.
The honest answer is: it depends on what we're doing. Botox pricing is typically based on the number of units used, and most people need 20 to 60 units depending on the areas treated. Filler is priced per syringe, and the number of syringes depends on the area and the amount of correction needed.
During your consultation, I'll give you a clear, detailed breakdown of costs before we do anything. There are no hidden fees and no surprise charges. And if budget is a concern, we can prioritize and build a phased plan that spreads costs over time.
I'd rather you come in and have an honest conversation about pricing than guess and worry about it from home.
3. "Does it hurt?"
I wrote an entire blog post about this one because it comes up so often. The short version: it's not painless, but it's way more tolerable than most people expect.
Botox feels like a series of tiny pinches. Filler involves more pressure and sensation, but we use numbing cream and many fillers contain lidocaine to keep you comfortable. Most clients are surprised by how manageable it is.
If you're very sensitive or anxious about pain, let me know upfront. We have additional numbing options available, and I'll work with you to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
4. "How long does it last?"
This varies by treatment:
Botox typically lasts 3 to 4 months, though some clients find it lasts closer to 5 months with consistent treatment over time
Hyaluronic acid fillers (Juvederm, Restylane) last anywhere from 6 to 18 months depending on the product and the area treated
Biostimulators (Sculptra, Radiesse) can last up to 2 years, with results building gradually as your body produces new collagen
I always set realistic expectations about longevity during your consultation. I'd rather under-promise and over-deliver than the other way around.
5. "What if I don't like it?"
This is a really important question, and I'm glad people ask it. Here's the reassuring truth:
Botox is temporary. If you don't love the result, it wears off completely in 3 to 4 months. Nothing is permanent. Nothing is irreversible.
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved. An enzyme called hyaluronidase can break down HA filler if needed. So if you don't like the result or there's an issue, we have a safety net.
That said, my goal is to get it right the first time. My conservative approach means we start with less and add more only if you want it. This dramatically reduces the chance of a result you're unhappy with.
6. "Am I too young/too old for this?"
Neither. There's no magic age for starting aesthetic treatments, and there's no age where it's "too late."
I see clients in their mid-20s who want preventive Botox. I see clients in their 60s and 70s who want to look more refreshed. Both are completely valid. The treatment plan just looks different depending on where you are in life.
What matters isn't your age — it's your goals, your concerns, and whether treatment can realistically help you achieve what you're looking for.
7. "How do I know if my injector is qualified?"
Excellent question, and one I wish more people asked. Here's what to look for:
Medical credentials. Your injector should have a medical background and appropriate licensure.
Specialized training. Aesthetics-specific training beyond a basic certification. Advanced injection techniques, facial anatomy, complication management.
Before-and-after photos. A robust gallery of real, unfiltered results.
Reviews and reputation. What do past clients say? Are the reviews consistent and genuine?
Comfort level. During your consultation, do you feel heard? Does the provider explain things clearly? Do they seem knowledgeable and confident?
Don't be afraid to ask about credentials, training, and experience. A qualified provider will be happy to share.
8. "What's the downtime?"
For most injectable treatments, downtime is minimal to nonexistent.
After Botox: You can return to normal activities immediately. Just avoid intense exercise, lying flat, and rubbing the treated area for a few hours.
After filler: You may have some swelling, redness, or mild bruising. Most people look fine within a day or two, though bruising (if it occurs) can take up to two weeks to fully resolve. Makeup can cover most of it.
I always recommend scheduling treatments when you don't have a major event for at least 2 weeks, just to be safe. But many of my clients get treated on their lunch break and go right back to work.
9. "Can I see examples of your work?"
Absolutely — and you should always ask this. I maintain a gallery of before-and-after photos taken with consistent lighting and angles, with client consent. I'm happy to show you results that are relevant to your specific concerns during your consultation.
I also encourage you to check out our social media for additional examples. Seeing a provider's work across many different faces gives you the best sense of their skill and aesthetic style.
10. "Why should I choose you over a bigger medspa?"
I love this question because it gives me a chance to explain what makes my practice different.
At a large medspa, you might see a different provider every time. Your consultation might be rushed. The person injecting you might have limited experience. And the focus is often on selling packages rather than building relationships.
At Aesthetic Touch by Raya, you see me. Every time. I know your face, your history, your goals, and your preferences. I take my time with every appointment. I'm not trying to sell you things you don't need — I'm trying to build a long-term relationship based on trust and results.
I'm smaller by design. That's not a limitation — it's a choice. It means I can give every client the attention they deserve.
The Question Nobody Asks (But Should)
"What do you think I need?"
People are often hesitant to ask this because they're afraid of being upsold. And at some clinics, that fear would be justified. But at mine? I'll tell you what I honestly think would make the biggest impact for you. Sometimes that's less than what you came in expecting. Sometimes it's different from what you had in mind. And sometimes it's nothing at all.
My honest assessment is free. And it's the foundation of everything we do together.
